The rules for using bks.social.

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using bks.social, creating an account or selecting a button indicating that you accept these Terms, you agree to enter into this agreement with Py-Core LLC and to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.

If you use bks.social for a company, organization or other legal entity, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. Who may use bks.social

You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a bks.social account.

You may use the service only if you are legally able to enter into this agreement and are not prohibited from using the service under applicable law.

If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian to approve your use of an online service, you may use bks.social only with that approval.

3. Privacy

The bks.social Privacy Page explains how information is collected, used and protected when you use the service.

By using bks.social, you understand that information may be processed as needed to provide accounts, direct messages, book discovery, recommendations, moderation, security, advertising and other platform features.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the activity that occurs through your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

bks.social and BookPromotion.io use a shared account system operated by Py-Core LLC. An account created through either service may be recognized by both services.

Access to BookPromotion.io is subject to BookPromotion.io's separate eligibility requirements, terms, available features and applicable fees. Creating a bks.social account does not automatically make you eligible for every BookPromotion.io service.

You may be permitted to create or access your account through a third-party authentication provider, including Google. Your use of that provider is also governed by the provider's own terms and policies.

• Provide accurate account information.
• Keep your email address current.
• Use a strong password that is not shared with another person.
• Notify bks.social if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
• Do not create an account to impersonate another person, author, creator or organization.
• Maintain the security of any third-party account you use to sign in.
• Understand that revoking a third-party sign-in connection does not automatically delete your bks.social or BookProm

Usernames, display names and profile identifiers are not owned by account holders. bks.social may change or reclaim them when reasonably necessary to address impersonation, trademark concerns, prolonged inactivity, confusion or platform administration.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of original content you create and publish on bks.social.

Your content may include posts, reviews, ratings, reading updates, comments, discussions, images, videos, profile information, author material and creator content.

Permission to operate the service

When you submit content to bks.social, you grant bks.social a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, distribute and technically adapt that content as reasonably necessary to:

• Display your content through the service.
• Make public content available to other members and visitors.
• Generate thumbnails, previews, accessibility information and compatible media formats.
• Connect content to books, authors, creators, discussions and discovery features.
• Moderate content and protect the service.
• Promote bks.social and public activity occurring on the platform.

This license ends when your content is deleted from bks.social, except where continued storage or use is reasonably necessary for backups, security, moderation records, legal obligations or content that another member has independently shared or incorporated into an ongoing conversation.

Your responsibility for content

You are responsible for content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to publish it and grant the license described above.

Do not upload copyrighted books, artwork, videos, photographs, audio or other protected material unless you created it, received permission or are otherwise legally entitled to use it.

6. Community conduct

bks.social is designed for good-faith discussion about books and reading. You agree not to misuse the service.

• Harass, threaten, stalk or target another person.
• Publish unlawful, abusive, hateful or deliberately deceptive content.
• Impersonate another person, author, creator, publisher or organization.
• Send spam, scams, malicious links or unwanted repetitive promotions.
• Manipulate likes, follows, ratings, reviews, recommendations or other platform signals.
• Use automated tools to create accounts, scrape data or access the service without written authorization.
• Probe, bypass, disable or interfere with authentication, moderation, rate limits, security controls or other technical protections.
• Upload malware or interfere with another person's access to the service.
• Abuse reporting, appeals or moderation tools.
• Help another person violate these terms.

7. Moderation, safety and spoilers

bks.social may use automated systems and human review to identify spam, abuse, harmful material, copyright concerns and other possible violations.

We may remove content, add warnings, reduce visibility, quarantine media, restrict features, suspend accounts or terminate accounts when we reasonably believe action is needed to enforce these terms, comply with law or protect members and the platform.

bks.social provides spoiler controls so readers can choose whether to reveal sensitive book details. Members are expected to label significant spoilers accurately and avoid deliberately exposing readers to hidden plot information.

Moderation systems are not perfect. Content may be missed, mislabeled or removed in error. Where an appeal process is available, you may use it to ask for another review.

8. Copyright and intellectual property

Respect the copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual-property rights of authors, artists, publishers, creators and other rights holders.

bks.social may remove or restrict content that is reported as infringing and may take action against accounts that repeatedly violate intellectual- property rights.

Copyright complaints should identify:

• The copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
• The bks.social content or URL involved.
• Your contact information.
• A good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized.
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the rights holder.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

If you believe content on bks.social infringes your copyright, please contact us through our Contact Page. Include enough information for us to identify the content and explain your claim. We review copyright complaints and may remove content when appropriate.

9. Advertising and promoted books

bks.social may display advertisements, sponsored content or promoted books in connection with the service.

Advertisers and authors are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their advertisements, claims, retailer links and promotional material.

Additional terms may apply to paid advertising, author promotion or other purchased services. Those additional terms become part of this agreement while you use the applicable paid feature.

10. Third-party services, authentication and links

bks.social may integrate with or contain links to third-party services, including authentication providers, bookstores, retailers, creator platforms, social networks, payment services and other websites.

If you use Google or another third-party provider to sign in, that provider may transmit authorized account information to Py-Core LLC so we can create, identify, secure and maintain your account. Our handling of that information is described in the bks.social Privacy Policy .

You are responsible for maintaining the security and availability of any third-party account used to sign in. Py-Core LLC is not responsible for loss of access caused by a restriction, suspension, termination or interruption affecting a third-party account or service.

Revoking or disconnecting third-party authentication prevents future sign-ins through that provider, but it does not automatically delete your bks.social or BookPromotion.io account. You may need to establish another available sign-in method or contact support.

We may disconnect a third-party login, require additional verification, invalidate active sessions or temporarily restrict account access when reasonably necessary to protect users, accounts or the service.

Third-party services are operated by others and are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Google and other third-party providers do not sponsor, operate or endorse bks.social merely because their authentication or other services are used. Py-Core LLC is not responsible for third-party content, products, availability, security, policies or conduct.

11. Changes to the service

bks.social will change as features are developed, improved or retired.

We may add, change, limit, suspend or discontinue features or parts of the service. We may also establish reasonable limits on storage, uploads, account activity or platform use.

We will try to provide reasonable notice when a major change materially affects members, but some changes may need to occur immediately for security, legal or operational reasons.

12. Ending your account

You may stop using bks.social at any time. Where account-deletion or deactivation controls are available, you may use those controls to request closure of your account.

bks.social may suspend, limit or terminate an account when we reasonably believe:

• These terms or platform rules were violated.
• The account creates a safety, security or legal risk.
• The account is being used for unlawful conduct, fraud, spam or abuse.
• The account is inactive for an extended period.
• Continuing to provide the account or service is no longer reasonably possible.

Provisions that by their nature should continue after account closure—including content responsibility, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits and dispute provisions—will survive termination.

13. Disclaimers

bks.social is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or available, or that user content, book information, recommendations, ratings, reviews or external links will always be complete or accurate.

Recommendations, Literary DNA results, G-NRIS™ insights and other analytics are informational platform features. They are not professional, medical, psychological, financial or legal advice.

Your use of content, recommendations, retailer links and interactions with other members is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, bks.social and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill or loss of use arising from the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of bks.social for claims related to the service will not exceed the greater of:

• The amount you paid directly to bks.social for the service giving rise to the claim during the six months before the claim; or
• One hundred U.S. dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the fullest extent allowed by law.

14. General terms

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as bks.social changes. The revised terms will apply from the effective date shown on this page.

When a material revision is made, bks.social may provide notice through the platform, by email or by another reasonable method. Continuing to use the service after revised terms take effect means you accept them.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms of Service and any disputes arising out of or relating to bks.social or the use of the service will be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, legal proceedings relating to these Terms or the use of bks.social must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wilson County, North Carolina, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Entire agreement

These terms, the Privacy Page and any additional terms that apply to a specific feature make up the agreement between you and bks.social concerning the service.

Severability

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining terms will continue to apply.

No waiver

A failure to enforce a provision of these terms is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
